Natalie St. Martin Artist Statement

Seeing and being seen, through observation and expression, we share in the Divine mystery of life. With boldness of faith, courageous and playful articulation, and a delicate eloquence, Natalie St.Martin invites the viewer into her process of self-discovery. She explores the turbulent journey of humanity through painting, responding to the call of true identity.

Working exclusively on paper, Natalie uses a variety of materials for her paintings, drawings, and prints. She currently focuses on watercolor and gouache, handling them in a way similar to British watercolorists of the Nineteenth Century.  Her subject is people, and portraiture gives intimacy to her complex themes.
